how would everyone here like to schedule a catfish tourny. early this spring. if everyone would be in agreeance, i would say the best place would be sportsman paradise. only because there is plenty of room. i think it would be a great way for away to meet and get to know one another. now me personally, i would like to see some prizes set up, maybe we could take some sorta entry fee from the members here who wanna join, and we could purchase maybe a abu 6500c3 for top prize, maybe a nite stick 10ft rod for second prize, and maybe a $30.00 gift card to bass pro as third place prize. and what money would be left over could be set aside for cincypaylake (founder of this site) to better the site. by the way not trying to step on any toes, i just wanna see this site grow. that way we all paylakers in this area have a place to go and brag and not be ridiculed.

also forgot to add another reason for sportsman paradise its good channel cat fishing and shovel and blues as well. so we will defnitly have fish caught so prizes can be awarded. and if the tragic happens and no fish are caught, prizes could be set aside and we can plan another one.

I was going to suggest something like what you said. Except I would have it at cozy, cedar or ez(most of us live near these we could always take a vote). Instead of prizes I would suggest cash. $ makes the world go round! One of us would not be able to join and become the ref and hold the money. I say make it 5-10 bux to get in. I suggest a 20 lbs and up tourney, who ever has the biggest blue or flathead wins. If nobody catches anything over 20lbs then we do one of 2 things. Hold the money till next tourney or donate it to the founder for site improvements. 1rst place gets 70% pot, 2nd gets 20% and 3rd gets 10 %. Hell of an idea bryan, I was just going to wait till we had a little warmer weather before I got everyone excited about it.

I do plan on having some events. Keep discussing this and we can plan it out with respect to what you guys want. I think a points system may be a way to go instead of big fish. What do you think of that? Also, may I have the address of sportsmans paradise please.

Yea points sounds better because you could catch the biggest fish but another person could catch 5 big fish and he should of been the real winner...so i like the points better

dude you will be there even if we have to come pick you up. and if its to far for anyone to drive we can all come to an agreement, make a neutral spot which would be more conveient for everyone

Besides a main tournament with entry fees and prizes, I'd like to suggest a side deal. Play a card game. Every fish you catch (catfish, regardless of size), you get a card. Three 'community cards are dealt that anyone can use (like holdem). Best hand at the end of the day wins. Everyone give $2, winner take all.

sounds like a winner to me. and thats a good idea. that way we can keep the suspence going. but to make it a better time no one gets to see there cards and they go into and envelope. at the end we open up and see what we have. a fishing card no peak game. im ready.
