Has anyone else fished this place? I have mostly been fishing the lake to the left searching for a pike with no luck. I have pulled a could mid size bass out of it but that's about it. I have spoke with a couple people that have pulled a small blue cat out of that lake and one small one out of the front lake. I hear the front lake has very little cover and I have had no luck on it.
So has anyone else tried these lakes? If so any luck?

I've fished here a couple times. Only thing I've fished for is crappie earlier this year. Did pretty well, fished the center lake. There is a beaver dam along the part of the lake that is parallel with the river. Other than that, I havn't heard too much as far as catfish. You mentioned Pike, I had heard that they just stocked the lake you fished with Northern Pike this year. Havn't heard about any caught though. It's a pretty nice place to fish for only $2.00.

We should go there with a big box of wheaties and tear the carp up. I'm pretty sure those lakes are loaded with them.

Whats wrong with sport fishing for carp? A 10 lb. carp will fight just as good, if not better, than a 10 lb. catfish.

The kind that likes to fish, I fish bass, cats, carp, pian, or about anything else the guy with me wants to fish for. I don't keep fish most of the time anyway so what makes the difference?
I had two hours to waste yesterday so I went to the front lake with some wheaties (yes Russ you have me hooked) and got a couple runs. I missed them both because I was messing with my van and was not paying attention, my main goal was to see how the carp hit there.
I have heard of a couple small blues pulled out of the front and back (left) lake, I have pulled some bass out the back lake but it is getting hard to fish. You really need a small boat. I have not been able to get a pike but have heard of people pulling a couple 18 inchers out on shad on a float.
One thing them lakes do have is a nice supply of snakes, I seen three just yesterday, a couple times back I counted 7 sighting on the back lake, one came up on me and about gave me a heart attach.
Russ, let me know your days off and we will go.

Yea I kind of wrote the comment off... They just opened it up to the public this year. If you take 275 to Lawrenceburg IN. (Argosy Casino exit) and take a left on U.S. 50 (River Road), Follow that a couple miles into Ohio. When you get the the stop light that has train tracks (Kilby Road) take a left. Take that until you see a trailer park and take a left on Campbell RD. Follow that 1/8 mile and you will see it on your left. On U.S. 50 (River Road) you will pass another pay lake called wormies about 1/2 mile once you turn on 50 before you go into Ohio. Here is the info from the county parks site: Campbell Lakes Preserve10431 Campbell Road, Harrison, 45030 History: This 183 acre piece of property was acquired on September 12, 2002 as part of the Clean Ohio Conservation Program. Features & Facilities: * 4 fishing lakes totaling 57 acres. Ohio state fishing license is not required. * $2.00 daily fishing ticket required for ages 16 to 59. * Bass, Northern Pike and Yellow Perch are catch and release only. * Licensed car top boats such as canoes, kayaks and jon boats permitted; motors are not allowed.

Oh BTW, you can't take your cars around the lakes so the back lakes are a hike. If you get there early you can get your car next to the Northeast lake in one spot but you gotta snag it early.

Snakeb8, not really. I just had to stand up for my self but I can take it. No hard feeling buddy.
CincyPaylakes, yes they stock it. At least the back lakes get flooded when the river rises so you will get a little of everything in them. They do stock the bass, perch and pike at the least with the pike only being in the south lake I think.
It has always been marked "No Fishing" and "No Trespassing". This year they put in a small parking lot and big porta pottie then opened it up for public fishing. It is nice that you don't need a Ohio fishing licence (I have one anyway) and it only cost $2. I heard a rumor that you need to have a Hamilton county park pass but no one has ever said anything to me.
The $2 goes to nothing but keeping the lakes stocked. They did a good project with this.
Oh, yes old gravel pits, that's the main reason Northeast lake has very little cover. I'm sure they will make some cover at some point. The South lake has tons of cover...
