I JUST RECENTLY MOVED INTO THE MASON AREA AND I BOUGHT A PASS TO THE PINE HILLS LAKE IN THE PARK. IVE BEEN THERE ONCE AND I USED SOME NIGHT CRAWLERS, BUT ENDED UP CATCHING BASS, WASNT TO MAD DUE TO CATCHING FISH BUT WAS LOOKING FOR ALL OF THE CATS THEY SAY THEY STOCK INTO THE LAKE. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY BAIT PREFRENCES AND SPOTS THAT THEY HAVE LUCK AT.

THANKS A LOT MAN WHICH ONE OF THE LAKES DO YOU NORMALY FISH IN. AND IF IM TO FISH THE MIDDLE OF THE LAKE YOU MEAN CAST TO THE MIDDLE OR ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT HALF WAY BETWEEN THE d**n AND THE CREEK. IVE SEEN SOME PEOPLE ABOUT HALF WAY BETWEEN THE d**n AND THE CREEK OON THE RIGHT SIDE IF YOUR LOOKING FROM THE d**n AREA SITTING UP IN A TREE. THE PLACE I FISHED WAS RIGHT ACROSS FROM THERE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LAKE. PEOPLE SAY GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE LAKE WHICH IS GOOD CAUSE I ONLY LIVE RIGHT BEHIND SWIFTY IN MASON SO I COULD DARN NEAR WALK THERE.

when you are standing at the "pipe" between the big & little lake - looking out across the big lake, the dam will be on your left.......now look across the lake and slightly to your right - you should see a "point" - nice grass area - good spot ......also fishing from the middle of the dam is the deepest water - Pine Hills stocks some blues and shovels in May for a family fishing derby - since it is a public park many of the fish are taken out when caught in May and June - so after June fishing gets tough for blues and shovels. I am a Mason park volunteer that checks folks to be sure they have their paid fishing passes. If you are after the big cats I would also try some of the paylakes on this site. Hope this helps.

THAT FUNNY THAT YOU MENTION THAT. BECAUSE I WENT THERE ON SUNDAY TO CATCH A LITTLE BAIT SOMEWHERE I CAN TAKE THE DOG SO HE HAS A LITTLE FUN. THAT ABOUT WHERE I WAS . THERE IS A LITTLE COVE OVER THERE WHERE I WAS CATCHING BLUE GILLS AND I TROUGH IN ONE POLE JUST FOR THE HECK OF IT WITH A PIECE OF CHICKEN LIVER AND I CAUGHT A 4 POUND CHANNEL. I REALLY APPRICIATE THE HELP I JUST TOOK A GUESS AND SAT SOMEWHERE. THIS PLACE DOESNT SEEM TO HAVE A LOT OF BREAM THAT WAS THE HARDEST STINKIN THING FOR ME TO CATCH. THIS LAKE SAYS IT HAS PERCH AND ROCK BASS DO THEY STOCK THIS REGULAR OR WHEN CAUSE ITS GOOD EATING. THIS PLACE WOULD BE A LOT BETTER TO FISH IF IT WASNT FUL OF LIL KIDS SEEING HOW FAR THEY COULD THROUGH ROCKS IN THE LAKE.

I don't believe the lake has perch since perch like cooler water and of course there are no airators at Pine Hills. Moss is a problem since the water has very little movement. They treat the moss with chemicals a few times each summer which does affect the fish bite. Kids are a problem as it is a public park. Pine Hills is still a good place to take the family and fish for a few hours. The first Friday night of June, July, and August overnight fishing is permitted. The second Friday night of Sep is overnight fishing. (total 4 times a year). No overnight fishing at any other times. There are huge carp in there if you are into carp fishing. Last year they had a carp tournament but I think they skipped it this year. Hope this helps.
