Bink, I go to fla. and I take my 6.5 ft. ugly stick and use a 3/8 oz. krockdile lure. it's a silver spoon. If you go out on the piers, they usually use cut bait (squid) or shrimp. Just go to a tackle shop and they'll tell you what's hittin. Oh, I use the ugly stick from shore.

I saltwater fish, surf fish and have fished off of piers. I have some great leaders here for shark, kings, and barracuda. Give me a call before you leave and I can help you out. We are leaving for Florida in May to do some Shark fishing. We use 100lb test with 12/0 hooks and 480 lb test cable for leaders. ok i got this big paylake pole in the garage and im heading to hilton head and savanah and im gonna use that thing for what its made for! the only problem i know knothing about surf fishing or peir fishing. what do i need to take what do i use for bait setups everything anyone have any advice?

We are leaving this Wednesday for Florida to do some shark fishing. My boat is already in the water and ready to go out and catch some big fish. I hope to least catch a 12 footer this year. I have caught some nice fish and a 10' bull shark is my biggest so far.

We use reel magic on our reels and we also spray them down every day. All the reels we use are made for saltwater. We use Penn, Shimano and Quantum tackle. and when your done fishing make sure you rinse that salt off your reels real good.........saltwater does a number on reels. We are not fishing from a pier. We are fishing from a boat. I used to live in Florida for a wile. We will be doing some surf fishing from Mexico beach. We have always did pretty good down there. I just hope the weather is good when we get there. I have the rods to handle 1000 lb fish if we can get some hook ups on them.

We just got back from Florida and we did catch alot of fish. The wind was blowing around 10 to 30 mph all week and the seas was 2-4' waves with some 4-6' waves on some days. My 13 year old son Morgan landed about a 300 lb shark and we had 80 lb test broke off a couple of times and we hooked in to some big fish that we could not get in. We will be heading back down as soon as we can. I wish I could show some picture but our digital camera broke and we lost all our pictures of this vacation which really sucks.
