I had just pulled up to the lake,Put one pole in the water, then rigged up my other one and threw it out.Decided to troll the first one in,bump, bump, bump,WHAM!!!!!!!!!!!! I wasnt there 5 mins!It was on took me straight out to the big bubbler like i didnt even phase him and rolled!BIG BIG BIG bluecat! On a shad head.I fought him for 7 mins! When i finally thought i was gaining on him he rolled again this time closer to the bank, and started back out to the bubbler...........................and whiff line went limp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hook came right out! I almost threw my emcast in the lake!Ive caught some big fish but this would have been my biggest ever! I was seriously about to cry.I also caught a 30lb shovel but i didnt even care! Had that happen to me one time with the wide gap hooks, that i through out the window on my way home, it had to be at least a 40-50 lb fish. Also I have miss a lot fish trolling because i react to fast sometime and the hook just doesn't grab and there will be a huge mess of bubbles out in the lake the size of a truck bed.

I feel for you bluecatjosh, I would have cried myself. About you trolling in your line. Call me dumb but does that work? I have never tried it, you just reel in slowly (not to get off topic)?

Oh yeah it works, cover more water and you can as well find the holes in the lake that you might not have known about.. Might only be as big as a truck bed (hole) but that could be the one that holds that fish of a life time..
