them party boats are fun.....but i would use like a 7-8 foot spinning rod with about 12-14 pound test thats what alot of people use for the charter boats there we got our own boat so we just follow them and catch fish...LOL

I agree, bring along the same stuff you use around here for bass fishing, i used to be charter boat Capt, i preffered bait casting over spinning, you can toss heavier lures, and use shorter rods 5-6ft, for better hookset, sometimes you have a lot of line out and u need more backbone on rods. GOOD LUCK

crawler's on erie deries work good, but take you along some leechs they work great as well, or get some small (3-5) inch suckers they work as well for walleye. Got a friend of mine that does my machanic work and his parents have a cabin and nice boat set up on erie and we go up there about 2 or 3 time in the spring/earlly summer. Going up here in 3 wks, i hope. Talk to him yesterday and he said 3 wks. so we will see. good luck mark

Lake Erie is a GREAT fishery, weather and time of year has a lot to do with the fish biting or not, best time for Walleye is after Memorial day when the weather settles down and water temp warms up, till fall, Bass and perch are good then also. sometimes they bite sometimes they dont...Thats why they call it FISHIN, not CATCHIN
