well bait jsut about anything you can think of.. Izzies, gold fish, suckers ect. warms of course, and all that shad that you getting out of the lake, well depends on how big they are, sell them by bag (froze) BUT if you can come up with a tank that you can keep them alive in for a bit then sell them live.. Tackle well the best thing to do is to carry a vari.. of stuff that people would use for the type of fish that are in the lake. You did say there is big crappie in it, well sell crappie minnow for sure may some soft plastics for crappie, but wouldnt stock up on alot of stuff like that though, being its a pay lake people do fish paylakes for moreless catfish and a few people carp.. Big cat rods a vari. of price rang reels for big fish as well as some for kids.. If i think of anything else i will let you know LOL

The previous owners left me one of the best bait/minnow tanks i've ever seen. the bait/tackle shop itself is an over-size two-car garage (about 30ft by 40 ft) with heat and a/c. I'm simply waiting for a good thaw for all the ice and snow to melt to get some good pics to post. I have a meeting with the local game warden next week to see what kind of chubs, suckers, etc. he'll let us get away with. its already in black and white on shad that i can only carry frozen-- not live. The crappie population is good. biggest i caught last nov. was about 8 inches but i think that will improve once i get the shad under control. One of the best positive signs we've had so far, really since last november when we took over, is that we haven't had a single fish kill. with the weird winter we've been pleasantly surprised.

the march 29th tourny will be run just like the one being held in may at cast away. (mainly because i don't know another way to do it) ticket for tourny will be reduced to $12.00 and i'm up for discussion on the payout entry. i'm thinkin anywhere from $20.00 to $30.00. Just PLEASE remember that the "payout entry" will have to be cash for emmediate payout .
Thanks,
MArk

there is alot of diff. ways, do like a hourly tourny based the number of entries, the is a lake over in the franklin area, triangle, its i think like $70 to enter adn based on the # of entries, is so much a hour. He does get quite a few people in it, i entered it 2 time last yr. and got about $1400 out of the 2. he gets 100 people and cuts it off at that and he pays out so much on that an hr. hold a all wk.end tourney, kinda like the wkly. J.P. but only on the wk.end. biggest fish or however you want to do it, most weight and biggest fish, it cost so much extra to get into it. ect.. diff. kinda jar for biggest shovelhead of the wk. biggest blue of the wk. stuff like that

WOW!! thats grrrreat info!!! i will DEFINTELY looks into some of those options!!! I'm tryin to keep the 1st one fairly simple and in-expensive until we get the hang of things. Wife and i both want to run a tourny of some kind every-other-sunday to where it can become a regular thing. We were hopin for an entry fee of 20 to 30 dollars and a turn out of about 50 people.
Is that being unreasonable for a 1st event???
