I tried 20lbs suffix premium this year and am getting disappointed to say the least , the line seems to twist easy when stretched and curls. I had 2 fish break line on hook sets yesterday and it has me pretty pissed , probably going back to big game , any advice ?

I tried 30lb Suffix Siege earlier this year and was breaking it on hook sets..............I'm now back to using Big Game.

this year has been a terrible year for me breaking line also.... I switched my line from excel to black widow... And in my opinion that was a huge mistake.... Ive broke on hook sets, and sometimes it just would seem like for no reason at all... My line wasnt in bad shape but owell... Everybody has an opinion but mine is that black widow sucks its too soft dosent sink and breaks, kinks ans stinks.....

Hi, I am new to this site but not to fishing for big cats. Just from what I hear about cp2 Its common to break on hook sets. Eps in the "hot spots" and on bottom. My buddies went there about every other week last year and was breaking off everytime he went. I told him to watch how tight his weights was to the line and to keep an eye on his leader. We used 25p line or 30 big cat. Changed to 50 black widow and 40 quatro. Yes heavy line but have yet to break off since. If your line curls try to run it thru grass sounds weird but it works. Also try to cast out a few times it also works most the time.

Thank you Larry, wanted to make sure before I took my stuff there, considering all I use is braid for the most part, got to switch out to the mono.

I usually use Big Game when I dont use super lines. My buddy uses 25 excel though so I might switch to that, plus I will get double points at bass pro if I buy that..lol
