You can check my scales anytime you wish. Hand scales, no matter what brand are not consistently accurate, and they do not claim to be. I have had people mad at me this year because their 55 lb fish weighed 62 on their hand scale and thought they should bust the 60 lb jackpot. I have also had guys who were having their own little side bet say that a mans 56 lb fish only weighed 52 on their hand scale. Every one has there own thoughts, but I assure you my scales are quite accurate. As I said I have no problem with anyone checking them to see for themselves.

34 and 49 is a big difference, so I definitley think the hand scale is off. I think the hand scales are good for a quick measurement, but they are by no means accurate. I dont know if Hickory's scale is certified or dead on, but I think it is pretty accurate. When I was there Weds, night I caught 2 nice fish, my biggest so far actually. 2 guys fishing there came up and told me that Hickory's scale was off by 4 pounds, because their hand scale said so....lol

i am sure they are on. im sure my fish was a 49 but it may be just a 49 to some but it is my biggest fish and the guys there weds was my buds hating on my fish. so i want to shut them up. with the proof right in front of them and my point to them is i am going to trust hickory's scales more then hand scales and i know this fish wasnt a 34 in the net i forgot to add wich made it a 32 on there hand scales i knew right away that was way off. thanks big hickory for letting me rub there faces in it. see ya tues and wedsday

from my experience the digital scales are right on, the old spring one vary from each scale.

I once saw a fish weighed at a paylake where the weight of the net was not factored in the digital scale.......then the fish was weighed again by a different person with the weight of the net factored in - difference of 6 pounds....no big deal...... except that 6 pounds made the difference in hitting a big $ slot!! It was an honest mistake by someone at the lake not used to weighing fish.

weight difference of 6 lbs........... are you kidding me? i have a digital all you have to do is hit the button teir or tare or something like that with the net on it without the fish then it zeros out...then weigh it with the fish in it and bam you have a close guess....but never have i seen a net weigh 6lbs......
