The St Croix reel is one of the smoothest reels I have ever thrown of this size. We spoke to G-Loomis today and we are going to start caring there rods here. I am going to wait to Spring because of the $3500.00 buy in price to become a dealer. yes i contemplated buying one of the St.Croix reels for months and never did, i wish i would have now i would put it on my Emblem Surf instead of my Saltwater Iron IR410cx , turned out to be very good reels for the money though

Sweet more people falling in love with gloomis rods. There not cheap but the quality is there much like st croix. They can take a beating. The same rod has been used for five years and god only knows how many lbs of fish. I may have to try st croix reels. Im kinda stuck on shamanos penns and abu

I like the Shimano Calcutta reels and most of the Abu Garcia just fall apart. We mostly use the Abu Garcia for custom built reels running upto $650.00 each. We have some on our website for over $500.00 each. They are sweet when they are done. Abu Garcia reels is our best selling reel for pay lakes because for the money they hold up for a while. It just seems like the worm gear, line pawls and drags do not hold up in them. But if you compare price to some of the other reels they aren't priced that bad. You do get what you pay for with any product. Most Abu Garcia reels are not that bad just seems like we have minor problems out of them from lack of care mainly. We do ship alot of stuff out all over the world. We are getting ready to ship $11,000 worth of headlamps to the US military in a couple of weeks. Cool. I have a calcutta 700 its nice. that 700 calcutta is a nasty reel! i had that on the 12' Loomis for a long time, people talk crap sometimes about shimano, but i think they're the best reel makers out there, heck every year all the other reel companies just copy off their designs but cannot match their quality, the 3 stradics and 1 sustain i own have been hands down the best spinning reels i've ever owned, when i can from here on out the only spinning reel i'll ever buy is the Sustain
