I hear alot of people talking about this, and Im sure it as simple as casting out and reeling in slowly... but could someone go more in depth for me to make this trolling thing succesful. I mean, baits, how fast to troll, how deep to troll, rigging setup ect ect... I want to try it this weekend and see how it goes..

i only troll using cut bait, or dead bait. and, i only do it when there's not too many ppl around the lake cuz the constant casting can get annoying. however, trolling is very effective especially when your on a lake you don't know all that well. I like to troll anywhere from 6inches to 18inches off the bottom. One full turn of my reel, count to five, then another full turn, and so on. i usually do well with blues this way. But i am only one opinion.

ohh, I was wondering why when I go to a paylake I always see people whom I think are just having a casting contest lol... Now I see there is a purpose, at least for some of them.. So this would be used with dead, not live bait... any other opinions out there?

Is this something that would work in a bigger lake as well, like say caesars creek or cowam lake?

trolling can also help you find where the deep holes in the lake are at and if you find the holes you find the fish.

I like to troll, unless I'm drinking, then I just like to chill.
Also, I'm usually drinking, so I don't really troll much.

chris what lakes at hickory have you done best out of so far I've done the best in the two smaller lakes but haven't fished the big lake all that much. My last three or four trips I've probably averaged about 6 fish a trip with the biggest fish each time being in the 30's or close. I've had some really big ones hooked just haven't put any on the bank. Wher is the pics of all these fish? You post pics of your girlfriend on fishing sites and not fish, don'y believe ya!!
