I started doing that this year because I had 5 different cases last year where guys was trying to net and snag fish that were just put in. They were swimming around the banks at night. I did this to protect all of the fisherman's money to make sure that the fish is adapted to the lake water. We stock alot of fish in here every year and sometimes they will stay close to the bank. This is not a crazy rule and more lakes are starting this same thing. huh, if the fish is in the lake, i thought he was fair game. why the waiting period?

the other lake you mentioned started that rule "all of a sudden" when there was A LOT of money at stake. Matter of fact he was hanging the sign when dude went to get his money after releasing the 85lb blue he caught. the fish was stocked 6 day's earlier.
Castaways has "Lake Rules" posted like everywhere else.

do you have to tag the fish to keep track of which fish have been stocked recently? i don't mean to be asking a lot of questions, just haven't heard of this type of rule before

Yes, we have about 100 fish tagged in our lake. We have a 3 pages of tag numbers, weight, and date released and the last time they were caught. We have this posted in our bait house with our rules (this is also highlighted) By tagging fish it helps keep track of them. do you have to tag the fish to keep track of which fish have been stocked recently? i don't mean to be asking a lot of questions, just haven't heard of this type of rule before

All lakes should have all the rules posted in the baithouse. It is very unfair to the fisherman to make such rule because they did not want to pay for the fish being caught. All of our rules are posted in plain sight for everyone to read. That was wrong and is very unfair not to pay him for that fish. the other lake you mentioned started that rule "all of a sudden" when there was A LOT of money at stake. Matter of fact he was hanging the sign when dude went to get his money after releasing the 85lb blue he caught. the fish was stocked 6 day's earlier. LOL my bad Vince i heard you caught that fish. Can't believe anyone. Anyway you said $5200 but if the jar is broke only half is paid right? That would make like $2600 right? Thats some BIG money there. Vince i know how well you know that lake if anyone is going to bust it i'm sure it will be you. I also have heard how much you fish therefor your odds are better.
Good Luck
