It has been a weird year this year because people are catching them on all kinds of different baits. Some people are saying that Mollets are doing pretty good. My favorite bait for them is Night crawlers and leeches.

so far this year i have had my most luck on either a whole warmouth or a good size cut bluegill body

me and my buddy's have been having a really good year with goldfish but recently i've been having the best on torn off goldfish and bluegill heads without leeches

I catch most of my big shovels on live shad about 5 to 8 foot deep.

my favorite bait for shovels are yellow bellies my favorite bait for blues ia cut shad or bluegill heads and for channel cats it is shrimp marinated in garlic powder it may sound dumb but it works

I would have to say that 8-10 inch gold fish and big bluegills.
