i like my floats as low as i can get them but still be able to see its tip because if the cat runs across the surface the bobber still goes down

i like mine about 2 inchs (12 inch or 10) and use my straw about 14 inchs long. That way the bait (live) dont get tangled up to much that way..

I CAUGHT 3 BLUES 2 DAY (3/3/08) NO GIANTS A 10#, 16#, AND 18#......ALL ON FRESH CUT SHAD. I WAS FISHIN THE BACK LAKE AT FOLZ'S. I SET MY DEPTH SO THAT MY BAIT IS JUST INCHES OFF THE BOTTOM. THIS TIME OF YEAR, THE BLUES ARE WAY MORE AGRESSIVE THAN SHOVELS. THESE FISH WERE PEEELIN LINE OFF MY SPOOLS BE4 I HIT EM. U GUYS GAVE GOOD ADVICE....LOW RIDER FLOATS.... AS LONG AS U CAN TELL IF U R ON THE BOTTOM OR NOT. AND THE LEAST RESISTANCE POSSIBLE... NO HUGE BUOY FLOATS STICKIN 9 INCHES OUT OF THE WATER.... SMALLER SOFT BAITS....DOWNSIZE EVERYTHING JUST A LITTLE AND U WILL IMPROVE YOUR ODDS.

always like to hear about people catching, I like my floats a little higher than most probably three or four inches showing and only using an ounce of weight

I like my float low almost completely submerged tipped with a glow stick at night. In day without wind.. about 3-4inches showing. If the weather is rainy and glum I like to see it very clearly.
