From what I understand, they are not native to any waterway in Ohio except the Ohio River. The Ohio River is technically Kentucky.

that sucks i think that since they flow through the rivers of ohio including miami they should be elgiable.

Ya if they make their way into the other rivers in ohio they should be considered native.

i seen somthing in the dayton daylie news paper that said the ohio blue cat record was like 57 or so last week and i think he cought it june 19 or something but i dont see how a 57 pound blue is ohio state record when bigger fish than that are cought every day guess i going to have to call the fish and game next time i catch a 60 so i can hold the record

the blue cat was just lifted off of Ohio's endagered species list, so this was the first year that they were eligible for records. the kentucky record was caught out of the Ohio River, but way down on the ohio. this is stupid, but here is the explanation the state gives for "sharing" the ohio river. kentucky actually owns the land underneath the river, and ohio owns the water, stupid. there is a big court case going on right now in Portsmouth involving the land/water ownership between the states. ohio is trying to claim an eight ton rock that has some historical value, but kentucky wants it because they own the land that the rock sat on. STUPID

Which is kind of weird to me, that fish out of someone's private pond can count. So if you want to break that record, your going to have to get on the Ohio river.
