I invested in a Hummingbird Smartcast Fishfinder last year to help me out in new lakes. The only reason i bought this was to find depth not fish, because i would have people telling me that the lake was 35 foot deep when i knew it wasn't. So it takes the hassle out of people lien to you. The only down fall is that it only detects fish that are suspended NOT ON THE BOTTOM, which i knew before i purchased it.

I have one of those too, but I keep forgetting to take with me to the paylakes I fish, lol. Oh well, maybe I'll remember it this year.
It does work well tho. I'm glad I bought one.

That stupid i dont see why..i know it shows the fish but it would almost be like trolling you are bound to run your bait over a fish some time....wonder if any others ban finders?

If lakes don't put it on the lake rules board or the ticket, then I'm going to use it until they tell me otherwise. Except Butler Lake.
