if you switch from the thread to the rubber stoppers you will never use the thread again... I have had good luck out of the rubber stoppers just try to keep them away from tons of uv cause it breaks down the rubber .....

Went fishing for the first time Saturday and I really liked the blue bobber stops from Cabela's. put 2 on 1 line and they didn't slip one bit in fact I couldn't even feel them coming through the eyelets when reeling in, had to watch for them.
Now we'll just see how long they last.

Yeah I'd have to go with the rubber stops as well - they don't slip like the thread ones can. I suppose it is personal preference .

i just use rubberbands because i change my depth to often.never had any trouble with plain simple rubberbands

blue cabela's stops,, couldn't get them on Black Widow 30#test... .maybe i was rushing to much??? so i just used the string ones...i was happy they work good..didn't slip at all...just 1 thing was you need the small bead..the line hole was just a little to big on the 8mm beads i have.... . i will try again to get blue cabel's stops on my line .. has anyone got them to go on 30# test at all???

RUBBER STOPS ARE GREAT I CHANGE THE ON EVERY CAST WITH NO PROBLEMS. RUBBER BANDS SEEMED TO BREAK TO EASY...

i started usin the rubber ones the other day for the first time and they are alot better they dont move at all and i cant use a bigger bead so it wont get stuck in the eyes of my rod.
