way to early to trout fish, wait till fall.. Go to rush run when they stock them, keep an eye on the O.D.R. web sight and it will tell you when they are going stock them.. Not very big ones but they are just the right size to freeze hole and then use them when its time for the big fish to start hitting..

little late on posting here for this thread...but we are really good family friends with the owners....and the lake just recently switched hands....dont know how it is going to be ran as of now with new people....but before it was pretty good....always caught fish....the front lake used to have a 91lb blue in it I caught once and my dad caught twice...Bubba was his name....we used to fish this place every weekend...but that has been 3-4 years ago....the owner went through some rough times with a divorce and other problems so towards the end, the lake seemed to be goign down hill....

they dont stock it with trout but they stock channels every friday not to contradict ya...but they do stock trout every year in there around october or november....they also put in burbot out of lake erie.... caught too many out of there for 'em not to be in it....and as for stocking weekly, they used to "try" to stock weekly...I say try because it didnt always happen

on the burbot thing how long has it been sence they put them in. Because to beable to get them and stock them they have to be check by the state before they can be put in.. Lake erie and as well as Minnasota, have a really high murchery laevel adn they stoped tehm from hawling them unless they owner of the lake pays out a preety penny to ahve them checked out by the state.. Tom out at Triangle use to stock them up to about 5-6 yrs ago. Just for the reason i xplained..

well as far as I know the last time Bill stocked burbot....let me see here....I think was the last year we fished there every weekend...and Im going to say 4 years ago....but the past 2 years Im not sure if he has stocked ANYTHING due to having financial problems from the divorce; hence, the sale of the lake....he may have said he has to keep business, but knowing the man pretty well, I dont think he has...

oh yeah they are great to eat, what happened well the state stop them from transporting them unless the lake/lakes want to have them inspected before they can be stocked, Lake Mich. and Minn. has a high Mercury content in the water and they have to have the fish check adn taged by the state people before they can stock them, cost alot of money to do it and lakes just dont want to do that, not worth it they say..
