From what I've heard, everybody is having problems getting big fish. Sounds like they are done until later in the year when rivers start to get some water. Let me know if you hear of anybody hauling any big fish, I might be interesting in getting some.

went back in june two weekends in a row...the first weekend we watched him stock the upper and lower lake....he put in around 600 fish in the upper lake and around 400 in the lower lake..... the biggest ones were 90lb and 92lb both went in the lower lake.... but we caught 21 the first trip with the biggest being a 52lb blue which took big fish of the week..., they were all caught on warmouths, chubs, and shiners-- we saw around 200 fish caught that day with only 2 of those being blues
the 2nd time we went we caught 71 fish with the biggest being a flathead that weighed 48lbs...all these fish were caught on chubs, bluegill, warmouth, and leeches.... everyone was catchign fish...no matter where they were fishing....we saw hundreds of fish caught with the biggest being a 60lb blue....
we went again once in july and only caught 20 this time...we went fishing at night (which by the way I recommend going during the day) and saw maybe 100 fish caught...VERY SLOW, the biggest we saw was 40lb+ same baits as before......the biggest we caught came around 7ish the next morning and it was only 26lbs...but in about an hour or so when daylight came we watched 2 guys catch around 50 fish themselves

First trip to CP2, long drive from Northern KY, a real B....H to find. Mapquest gets you close but then your on your own to wind back through the streets. We fished the lower lake, seems really shallow. We had many runs but couldn't hook them. using circle and straight shank hooks, same results. Can't figure out what we're doin wrong. A guy on the dam caught about 10, all shovels. The top lake produced fish all day all around the lake we could see them catching them. Nothing real big though, one guy caught a blue about 38 lbs. I know where to fish next time in the lower lake when we go back. If I can get the spot...

So fish the lower lake on the side by the scale? That side of the lake was full so we fished the frist shelter by the new lake they dug. It was our first time there so it was all new to us, plus we got there at 6:00AM so it was dark. We just picked an easy spot and started fishing. Like I said we got some action just couldn't hook 'em. We tried waiting longer and then not as long nothing worked. Thanks for the tip we will try it again. I drive a silver 1999 Durango so maybe we'll see ya there next time.

i was told the other day that they are working on the lake behind the bait shop, which they called the channel cat pond. I heard that is the going to about a 5 acre lake when they are done with it and about 10-15 ft deep.. Has anyone been out there in the past 2 or 3 wks. and saw this going on or is it another rumor going around..

It's true they have dug a new lake behind the bait house but if it is done it isn't 5 acres. It looks to be about 15' deep but they also built in shallow hills and and a ridge, also some deep holes.
Geezer, Thanks alot for the info on this lake
