Well I just checked the weather and I think I'm gonna head down to Paradise 1 on Friday. It's supposed to be 50 degrees and 10% chance of rain. But I was just wondering if you guys had been down the yet this year, and how you did. I'll prolly take some shad, skipjack, trout, and leeches. Anything else I should try? I'm hoping I bust some early season blues.
Also this is the earliest in the season I have been out for big cats, or atleast the coldest... Should I be slow trolling all my rigs or let em sit? I was planning on trolling shad heads with leeches, as it usually works well in mid-April up there. But I don't know if trolling is a good idea. Also, should I pick up some nightcrawlers too? I've seen people slam blues on crawlers up there in spring.
Well, thanks for any help, and if all goes as planned I'll be posting up some pics on Saturday.

From what I have read I suspect that most of Jame's attention is going into CP2.

Well I'm actually from Columbus, so CP1 is only about 1 1/2 hours away, whereas CP2 is about 2 1/2 hours. I've been goin there two years and I always do pretty good but I guess I kinda know the holes already. Pretty much my main question was what kind of baits should I be taking for early season. I'm going out to catch some trout and cast net some shad today. Also, are golden rainbow trout as good of bait as regular rainbows?

Well, let me start off by saying I have been to CP1 about 15 times, and I have never went to Paradise 1 and not caught ATLEAST 4 or 5 fish. Well, we went Friday and got skunked. I had a few real short runs, and a couple bobbers were dancin for a couple second but nothing really. I dozed off for a few minutes at about 1 or 2 and woke up to a clicker singing. I mean rippin line, I get up and walk over to the pole and like one step before I get to the pole it spits it out and my bobber comes back up. But anyway, I still had fun. Finally gettin outta the house and doin some fishin.
