i have heard that story also there is shovlehead there. there is a hole around 15 maybe 20 feet deep near the dam. I went fishing on Wednesday morning and saw what I thought was a carp but turned out to be a flathead getting a small frog it was yellow green and had big whiskers with a broad flat head around 6 inched across so i know there is shovel head up and down that stretch of the river trying using bluegill or shad or goldfish good luck

You can actually see the top side of the dam from I-75, it's just west off 75. It is located right at the Moraine airport. I used to fish there quite a bit when I lived in Moraine. gloomis is correct when he said the shovelhead hole is at the old destroyed dam, just down river. The new dam produces smallmouth, carp, and saugeye.

biggest from west carrollton i've ever got was round 20lbs, in miaimisburg at the chataqua dam by DP&L we've caught flatheads near 30lbs, there's bigger ones than that in there, on cut shad casting as far out at an angle of the bottom of the dam wall towards the other side of the dam, all i can catch bigger flatheads on is cut shad, everytime i use bluegill or anything live at Chataqua or West Carrollton all i catch is small flatheads and channel
