According to cincinnaticatfishing.com, there are some nice cats coming from the public landing right in downtown Cinci. Following his advice, I caught a very nice channel cat from there a couple weeks ago. The nice part is that you can watch your car while you fish, and they have a security guard cruising around on a golf cart, keeping an eye on everything for you. Check it out.

The landing is probably one of the best spots with the best access. River fishing is hard in a sense that you have to find the bait fish and then you will find the big fish. No baitfish= No fish.

went to the ohio river in new richmond a couple of nights ago cant remember the name of the road that we parked on but the hole we found was a walk and a half to get to. it wasnt a bad river bank fishing trip but wish i toke the camera now because my buddy slammed about 8 30 to 40 lbers and 6 50's, i caught about 4 20's and 2 30's and 3 50 over and a 68lber. all shovels and caught on huge blue gill and shad live and dead. i think he caught a few using white mice i caught A 50 on a white mouse and the 68 was caught with a 7inch crappie, my buddy said that there are many many holes in the new richmond area just gotta know how and when to fish them, but i rather stick to my paylakin

just go down there and look for the calmest water. we were fishing around and in some tree areas and look for drop offs if you can see out in the water like we could it was a lil clear and not steard up. i was finding drop offs about 20 to 30 feet off the bank

we were about 75 yards away from a boat launch at the first spot then we walked further down, he wants to take me across the way from there but would have to boat fish it because no land but might get a chance to try another one of his 10yr old holes

Sounds good to me. Even if they wasnt that big or caught that many. Catching fish for free is cool with me. Thanks for the info man. I will have to make it down that way and fish it a few times.

bluecatjosh go down to the river and try talking to some people and ask them how often they catch 3 to 5 cats an hour and see how many bigg cats they have pulled from the waters in a 18hr trip.
I will be making a trip to kellog ave.right off 275 soon, there is a barge sunk right on the bank, it sometimes is a great spot to fish but kinda hard also because the water level is always diff everytime i go out there. so far the best time for me to fish it is when the water is a lil lower so i can fish through the barge in the middle where its recked, hard part is keeping the fish from goin anywhere near the barge as your bringing them in or they will get you snagged to where you get it out, i might bring in 3 fish out of 10 because of the tight fit.
