just wanted some opinions on putting a longer handle on my poles,i would like to add about 10 inches the poles i bought 2 years ago have short handles i am going to use solid plastic and i think it should be strong enough. To cheap to buy new rods.

I don't like a longer handle personally. If you lean the end of the rod against yourself while fighting a fish, your hand is too far up in the air on the reel. Just my opinion.

Steve, the guy that runs the baithouse on the weekends at cozydale, can extend your rod handles for cheep. He can even rap them in cork if you want. He will do an awsome job. Some of his costom rods are the nicest rods i have ever seen.

yeah but even if ya dont like cozy dale steve does make some awesome stuff,and youd be paying steve cozy dont have anything to do with it! And yes his rods are sweeeeeeeettttt just like the new emcast but triple the price ,but LIFETIME warranty...

They are both the truth. Once you learn to fish those lakes you can slay them. But it is expensive and clicky as well.

The guys name is Steve Barns and he also works out of his house in Mason. I have 5 custom poles from him and I love them all, my most recent are (2) 11' rods made from 12' ugly stick blanks. he cut 6" off the top and bottom, painted all black, eyelets and eyelet frames are black, machined black aluminum reel seats, split handle and they come with a life time warrenty.
I highly recommend him and I have his phone # if your interested send me a PM (I need to check with Steve before I post his home number on the forum).

i have 2 of his custum rods and there are great.he does some of the best custom rods i have seen and he is an honest guy
