We went a couple of years ago, didnt have the money to do the guide thing but had a great time. we didnt catch a lot of fish but I did hook a six foot gator, the best fight of my life. he almost spooled me out twice got really nervous didnt know it was a gator till we hit him in the head with the net the wife almost sh*t. the locals said he probably weighed 350 to 400 lbs I guess now I know why they dont fish off the banks at night or use light sticks

we caught 37 fish total and two gar we each got 5 on the guide i got 6 on my buddies boat my one buudy got 9 and the other got 7 my biggest wa a 30lb blue in about 30feet of water it was a heck of a fight the biggest on the trip was a 38lb shovel 5 0r 6 over 20 but most where around 15lb. we had a great trip for only being are second time down we are starting to learn the lakes where thinking of going back in feb for the big blues.i was surprised there was a lot of shovles caught while we where there we saw 2 50lb shovels caught and i bet we saw at least a dozen 40 plus shovels get filet we also saw a 63lb blue get cut up down there they are all considered eaters.
