ive caught them one anything from nightcrawlers to live little minnows fishing for channels. They grow real fast, you can put one about 4-6 inchs in a yard pond and by the end of the summer it will way like a pound.. crazy but they do grow real fast. Did you keep it and use it for cut bait. The make great cut bait..

No a little to big for cut bait. Was defiantly thinking about it though.

Yes sir. Israeli are nothing more than a selectively bred common carp. They were bred as a food source. The good points about them is that they grow faster and they have fewer scales. You won't catch me eating one though! I accidentally caught one that weighed about eight pounds at White Oak Valley one time.

I love those things for bait, I have good luck with them. they are very soft, lively and will stay alive a long time on the hook. Great for this time of the year if ya know what I mean

oh yeah they are great bait! I have had better luck on them then goldfish by far.. And if anyone does catch a big in while fishing (1-3 lbers) they are great for cut bait. just do it like you would a channel cat and then chunck it out, blues love them that way..There heads are great bait as well, if they are those real big one then cut the head in 2 pieces...

Hit a night crawler when I was fishing for channels, fought a lot harder than a channel though...

you guys are going to think i'm lieing, but me and my wife was fishing in the little miami and caught a 21 pound gold fish last year. Looked just like a regular carp but gold as can be. that thing was so pretty if I had a fish tank big enough I would have brung him home.
