I was reading about the GIANT WELS CATFISH,and i was reading that they commonly use carp up to 5 pounds for bait!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How the hell do you keep that from spooling your reel???LOLOL Just thought that was interesting!~  |

I had about a 4 pounder with me the other day, and a a 4 pound goldfish, but never did use either of them, they are now in my freezer. I was told to throw them on the ground a couple times to "soften" them up a bit...lol and then throw them out...haha Wels catfish are big though, so a big bait is what they are going to eat.

those are awesome looking fish, i've read about them in alot of articles they use all kinds of different bait for them from dead rodents to huge gobs of crawlers , they also do what they call "klonking" or calling catfish for them while fishing, like a shovelhead with a burbot body

The best bait for the wels catfish is a nice balding human head....they don't like too much hair...  |
