Brandon is asking 4.2 million the only player in uniform last year that earned his keep in my opinion. The Reds are offering him 2 million.(excluding a few pitchers) DISCUSS?

THERE'S NO BIG MONEY HERE IN CINCY FOR SPORTS TEAM'S. LIKE THE YANKEE'S OR THE COWGIRLS. I THINK THE OWNER'S ARE KEEPING ALL OF IT IF THEY WOULD JUST SPEND SOME MORE WE COULD GET A SUPER BOWL OR WORLD SERIES AROUND HERE...JUST MAYBE? ?? I THINK IF A PLAYER DOESN'T WANT TO BE PART OF A TEAM THEN GET RID OF EM WE DON'T NEED THEM ANYWAY CRY BABY....IT'S A CANCER.............WE NEED TO KEEP THE ONE'S WHO WANT TO BE HERE AND PLAY.....SO PAY THEM....

I think they need to stop screwing around with arbitration and sign the guy to a long term contract. After he goes all the way through the arbitration process and hits the open market, they won't be able to sign him long term.
He's obviously a star, and the best position player on the team. He has speed, hits for average and power (a whole lot of power for a 2nd baseman), gold glove fielding skills, the whole package. You can bat him anywhere from 1 - 4 and get great production. Sign him long term NOW!

I would be surprised if the REDS offer any long term contracts. I saw the news today again they signed a veteran outfielder from the PIRATES never heard of him b4 had shoulder surgery last year. The REDS have to be more aggressive to be competetive like signing PHILLIPS long term at most he will get 2 yrs with no options. I have never considered rooting for another baseball team like I do the Bengals but the REDS need to make some moves or people will start having second thoughts like a lot of BENGALS fans. 2 new stadiums we now need 2 CHAMPIONSHIPS NOW OR NEVER.

this shouldnt even be an issue , to me it shows the managements lack of intellegence and class by allowing it to go this far , sign the guy already
