the bite hasn't been bad, seems like everybody has been catching fish. The monsters haven't seemed to have turned on yet. They're getting mostly 15-25 pounders fairly easy.

60$$$$$$$$$$$$ ? if thats limited to 50 people thats 3000$$$ in entry fees and if you have a 8 hr tourney youd be paying 2000$$ out still profiting off the entries 1000 bones... better if it was 100% payout.......... just my opinion. ;D

$2000 hourly (8 hrs) plus the $500 for the biggest fish.....I have no clue what a "normal" payout should be though (ie 100%, 80%, etc).

got to make a little bit of money off of these things or they would be worth haveing, right Chris. he will be makeing 500 off of the whole thing, 2000 for the hrs. and 500 for the biggest fish of the day, thats not a bad deal at all i dont think. I have fished tournies that the entry is 100 buck with 110 people in and fish for a 8 hr. tourney. and the pay out is q bit biggger but the owner of the lake is making 2000 buck off of the deal, but still at that they pay out is like (dont quote me on this) but i think its like 650 (1st) 350 (2nd). got to make money somehow if you close down the lake for just a touny.

i think it should be 100% payout too. the owners are going to make there money off tickets why should the fishermen not get all the money they put in .dont anybody get mad at me for voicing my opinion

Jim said the ticket price was included in the entry fee....maybe it should be kept seperate to avoid some of the confusion as to dollars available for payout from the "entry fees"?. ...the owners should keep the normal revenue from the ticket prices to cover the cost of operation.....from a rookie perspective I think the big debate of payout amounts depends on if the lake is closed to fishermen just in the tourny or does the lake remain open to the public so people can still fish without being in the tourny. ...that decision will (1) impact the amount of reveune the lake needs from the tourny....and (2) should impact the commitment tourny fishermen need to make to the lake.....just a thought from a roookie.

from a rookie owners' perspective,,, te 1st two tournys lisa and i ran was fairly simple, we had a reduced ticket price, and a 100% payout of the entry fee. the lake is still open to the public for fishing. i have yet to do the math on how things would work if we closed the lake from the public for a tourny.
