Could someone provide a little direction with building my bait tank? I have a 35 gallon barrel I have cut it down to the height I want and now I need to put a lid on it. I would like to put the top of the barrel back on it , but I don't know how. I need to make sure it wont leak or splash out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

chris, i have had same problem. i had a 55 gal. blue barrel and cut it in half. only had 1 big problem, no lid to use it for a portable one. i have seen guys have the same set up and had lids on them. not real sure how they do it.
what i use now, is a 25 gallon-35 gallon regular garbage can from walmart. i put that inside my blue barrel so it can get some of the water that splashes out. it works ok. keep about 2-3dozen shad alive with nothing for about a day and a half.
if you find out how to make a lid let me know! lol

What I did was have the top of the barrel cut off leaving about 2-3 inches below the lip of the barrel. I then cut the barrel down to the size I wanted and then I took the top of the barrel that was cut of and fit it inside of the rest of the barrel. I then tok some screws and attahced it and added a sealent. to water proof it.
