Ive heard that if you have mud leeches you can throw in a piece of dead bait or chicken liver so they can feed and this will help them to stay alive, but you will probably need to change your water a little more if you try this.

yse, that is why i don't feed mine...since you do need to change the water more often....and Randy is right you need to rinse them as they build up slim.....to keep things simple for me i put the leeches in the Lindy Leech Tamers (mesh bag that floats) and then simply put them in my 100 gallon water tank.....the leeches rubbing agianst the mesh material removes the slim so I don't need to constantly rinse them....and the filters on my tank remove the debris.

YOU CAN ALSO KEEP YOUR LEECHES IN THE TANK ON THE BACK OF YOUR TOILET EVERY TIME YOU FLUSH IT CLEANS THEM BUT MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THEM IN A LEECH BAG.......WORKS GREAT...

geezer, that is the most creative idea i've heard in a long time........if my wife happens to take off the top of the toilet tank lid and see the leeches, I think I would be sleeping in the backyard for awhile - or maybe sleeping at a paylake every night....hmmmmm - maybe I should ty this!!
