Thinking bout buying one of these Abu Garcia Reels, are they all there craked up to be, I love to fish and don't mind spending the cash at all, If it will hold up. I hear everbody talking about them. I guess I just need someone to tell me staight up that its the best reel I'll ever buy.

Wholesale bait and tackle has a lot to chose from just not sure which one to get. Really can't throw those kinda reels that well so you'll probly see me around the lake with a birds nest a couple of times before I get use to it. Probly go buy one this weekend and get a nice em-cast for it. Keep My trusty bait runners near by, for awhile I guess

ABU are ez to cast...i have tried a lot of different bait casters. because i did not want to pay $100 for a reel..but i got a 6000 off ebay for $30...man did it cast with almost no back lashing at all.. ;D the red 6000 is a nice reel and $60 new at wal~mart if they have any in stock.... now i got 2-6000 2-6500 and 2-7000...ABU is just the best I can pay for.......

You can't go wrong with abu. Keep in mind where you purchase these reels. If yo uare paying less than 80.00 for an abyu chances are it wont last, in other words don't buy them from wal-mart. Stick to bass pro, or larry's at castaways. Another good place to buy reels is afield in harrison. I purchased an abu record earlier this year and they are awesome. They are expensive but you get what you pay for. I have had an abu 6500 C4 about 6 years ago and it still runs like a champ and I have never had it cleaned or worked on.

Likely or not, My brother purchased three and they all sucked. He returned them. I have never had a problem from an abu purchased any other place. Maybe they were just a bad reel, but three of them. That is unlikely. Wal-mart sells crap. My opinion.

Looked at one at Hamilton bait and Tackle for around 130-140 felt reel smooth, not sure the model. Willing to pay for quality, I like knowing my equipment is up to par before I get ahold a monster or bluegill what ever bites. Sounds like I can't go wrong with abu.
