i run an invertor off of the truck cig. lighter. from that i run an extension cord to the bait tanks and just use an aquarium pump i got from wal-mart. the pump is a dual outlet, i put one line in each tank, unless its shad i put both lines in that tank

i got a act. bait tank that i use my air pumps in. But yeah i got one of those 100 watt inter. from Wal-mart, back in the automotive dept. and you can use just about anykind of air pump. I use 2 duel outlet airpumps. I use on each airpump i reduce them dowm to one line on each one and run a big air bar on each one. But they do work very well, adds alot of ox. to the water and keeps the bait lively and healthy. I have not a prob. keeping bait alive for long trips and then i just trans. the bait and air pumps over to my tank in the garage.

I use the marine metal 110 aqua pumps, I bought a deep cell marine battery to hook my inverter to. I hook my pumps to the inverter. This way I can keep my bait alive without having to worry about running down my car battery. The battery will run 24 hours a day for 7 days with the inverter. If I use my marine metal pumps that hook right to the battery, they only pull 1/4 amp. Those will run for a month or two before I have to recharge my battery. I paid 70.00 for the battery and 40.00 for each pump. They have not failed me yet.

for the shad, i use a 55 gallon barrel. for all of my other bait, i use 120qt. coolers. i separate all of my soft bait(chubs, shiners, mullets) from my hard bait(bluegills, crappie, bass, yellowbellys) into two separate coolers. i only put shad in the barrel.

I use the 20 pump from bass pro which runs off the 12v battery ($20 walmart).
As a backup I use a $10 air pump from walmart attached to inverter ($20 walmart).
Works like a champ...

thanks alot guys , this is a nice site glad i found it !!! I went and bought a pump from walmart about 40 bucks and bought a converter to run it off my plug in the truck. Going to run the air hose out the back glass and keep bait in my 50 gallon drum. headed to Cp1 tuesday despite several people saying not too, might be my last trip if it is real poor, last time caught over a dozen fish nothing over 30 though. If im catching lots of fish and most of them are over 20 and we get some high 30's and 40's im happy !!! I do wish it was liek in the old days when he would put half a dozen 80's in at one time and u see em with ur own eys !!! Probably fish the road side 2nd or 4th shelter. Got a couple new catmax rods 11' im itching to try out lol. hopefully the rain does not blow it out. Probably fish blugills ,leaches, suckers ,chubs ,rochbass, and of course cut bait . Like to have some bullheads , U guys using them lately ?? Anywhere close to cp1 that u can get bullheads here in this part of wv we have no shad and very few bullheads ?? anyone in the area can get me some ill buy them for a good price !!!!! thanks alot guys I can tell their is some veterans here on this board!!
