i use it all yearlong,in the summer the water gets hot, and the troutis a oily fishso it leaves a trial

i use trout all year long till i run out , catch lots of channels on it and some blues , its like leather on a hook lol and very oily, i caught a 31lb flathead on trout and nitecrawler at beaver this spring channel fishing, sometimes thats all i would use at Bills trout lake over the years , destroyed fish on it

lol, that would be sweet if we could keep some of them little sh*ts alive bout 6 inches long though! they cut up very easily you can cut any shape out of them you want

I still got 30+ lbs in my freezer that I caught this winter and fall and all I caught on it has been turtles.

heck yeah, how big are the steelhead? i've caught steelhead in new york b4, that'd be alot of bait, i'd saw one in half and try it 1st

ive caught channels on trout before as well, but to me its hard to get it to stay on the hook unless you are useing there heads.

just cut squares right outta the side of the fish, but you gotta make sure the skin is still on that skin is pretty tough, i've never had any problems keepin it on the hook
