Went to Springwater Saturday night. Me and my brother-in-law caught 3 channels and 2 shovelhead. The shovelhead were 30 and 20 pounds. Got the 30 on a live bluegill fishing a slip float. Caught the 20 on the bottom on a chub.

Where is springwater, and what are their hours/ticket prices? Were the channels the 1-2 pound fresh from the farm variety, or did they have some size to them?

Springwater is located halfway between West Alexandria, and Lewisburg, in Preble County. It is on Pyrmont Road, just west of State Route 503. The channels were nice sized, one was about 5 pounds. They are only open Friday-Sunday. It costs $14 for a 12 hour ticket. We were there last night, 7-6-07, and we caught 5 channels. No shovelhead or blues. We saw 4 nice sized shovelhead caught and one blue. Here is a link that talks about the lake: home.earthlink.net/~catfish_billy/id54.html
