get a abu reel 6500 or 7000 but make sure that they are made in sweeden not china some of the new one are made in china and for are rod i would eather get a 10 or 12 foot night stick they are not to expensve around 30 or 40 dollars usaly

6500's with 11' eliminator and cut about 6 inces off handle

if your looking cheaper go abu garcia reel and river cat rod 11ft or 12ft. more expensive reel go shimano cardiff 400. they last a long time.

Most Abu Garcia reels have been made in china for awhile now. The sideplate still says Made In Sweden. Buy a 6000 with a 10' nite stick and this combo will hold up for the money. hey catfishermanjosh, not sure if you go around the Middletown area but, not sure if Birdseed's bait shop has any in stock right now,but, there is another bait shop on varidy (however you spell it) parkway that i know has them i think they are like 44:95 a pc. or right around the rang. but i would go with the 12ft beef stix my self cheaper and they handle great, but dont get me wrong i have 1 12ft nite stix as well they are good rods as well. i used to be able to get the beef stix for $22 and i could get the nite stix for $29 but my dude has moved to florida so i cant get the great deals like i did before. (sux) but might want to check out hamilton wholesale as well. i useing the 11ft master casting rods now handle great, shoot me a P.M. i might be willing to get ris of the 2 12ft beef stix if you are interested..
