I have heard nothing good about it. Seems like everyone says it breaks too easy.

Used it alll year not one break I have started practicing retying all knots everytime I fish. No matter what line I use. I take off 15ft of line and tie all knots again. If you get yourself in the practice it will help what ever line you use!

I first started using this line in salt water and fell in love with it. I started using it in fresh water when I got in the business and the 30 lb. is ideal for catfishing. I have yet to break it, but I have seen people get hung up with it and their hook broke before the line did. I had one guy get hung up on my aerator and I swore he was going to pull it loose before I made him cut the line. It's the only line I sell. The 20lb. is a little light to use, it will tend to float.

i have been using the Black Widow line all year on my reels, and now i won't use anything else. the line is super tough, very little memory, and comes off of the reel just as limp as a noodle. the first few times you use it, it is a little hard to get it to sink, but after a few casts no problem. we sell 8-10 brands of line, but sell more Black Widow than all of the others combined

Hi seas has an awsome line up for line. I use 50 black widow and 40 quatro. Its the same thickness as big cat thirty, It cast good and its really tough and you can buy it in big spools for really cheap. Castaway lakes has it in there bait house I oerdered it on line and got it in two days. I have used pline, big cat, cajun, berkly, bass pro, you name it and I have had the best luck for the buck with this line. But each to there own. I cant ever break the stuff, makes good knots too. other lines get brittle but not this line. or not as bad.

I think the majority of the people having problems "breaking" this line aren't realizing that it is true-test rated. So 30lb. line WILL BREAK at 30lbs. Unlike Big Game, Suffix, Diamond, etc. Anything that Hi-Seas puts out is top notch. Atleast everything I've used. I use 30# Hi-Seas Black Widow line, and Hi-Seas fluorocarbon leader line. Never once had a problem, tried some other lines this year, went back to Black Widow. Always make sure your drag is set right ie: using 30# line, your drag should be set at 8-10#. Always take off 10-15ft. of line every trip. If I backlash I automatically respool. About every 8 trips I respool... Buy line 1/4lb or more at a time...
