Well I made the drive out to hickory last night 7/16 and fished until 5 this morning. Nice lakes, and a little closer than cp2 to me. Talked to the owners son when I got there and he was really nice, told me where to try on the big lake.
About an hour after being there, I had a big run, by the time I got to my pole it had dropped the bait. Had another run a little later, and couldn't get it. Then to top it off I had a fish break my line at about 4 this morning, and thats when I called it quits. I just couldn't connect with any fish.
Fishing was pretty slow, did not see any action at all. Saw a big dead shovel up on the shower that someone had thrown up in the weeds, and another one floating in the lake.
I tried the newer lake in the back, with no luck, didnt try the first lake. I found a couple holes, and other than that it seemed pretty shallow. Not giving up on the lake though, going to go back out next week and try again.
Anybody have any pointers on these lakes? or if any are better than others.
All 3 runs came on bullheads. Couldnt get them to touch anything else. I had everything with me, izzys, goldfish, gills, shad, skip, leeches, night crawlers, chubs, everything...lol
