I have used the galvenized tanks before with the same results in the past. I think the Galv. has alot to do with it but not sure. This year i have been using feed salt in my bait and has done wonders. If you are not using shad keeper or bait save try that. I would stay away from any other chemicals and be sure to use the salt.

i just buy start rite and no more algie fropm wal-mart and that works great for me dont loose alot of but at all, in fact i still got about 4 dozen chubs from the creek i got about 3 wk.s ago. and ive only lost 3 i think in the past 3 wks. if i can keeps the oldest boy out of the tank i will be doing good. LOL and i use 3 air pumps 2 for the air stone and one little one for the kinda filter i got set up. it use gravel and white cotton like fiber and it works for up to a 100gal, works great but you i have to check it about every 3-4 day and clean it. (filter).

I USE A 50 GALLON PLASTIC DRUM WITH A 100GAL FILTER PUMP TO KEEP THE WATER CLEAN,I ALSO USE A 60 GALLON PUMP WITH TWO STONES.I KEEP MY BAIT IN THE BASEMENT DUE TO THE WEATHER.IN THE SRING AND EARLY SUMMER,I KEEP MY BAIT OUT SIDE.I DONT PUT CHEMICALS IN WITH MY BAIT,BECAUSE I DONT KEEP MY BAIT IN MY TANK FOR MORE THAN THREE OR FOUR DAYS AT A TIME.

DO NOT USE GALVANIZED METAL! i had a 200 gallon horse trough set up and put dozens of yellow bellows and warmouths in it and it killed them, that metal is treated w/ something , get rid of it , i use 55 gallon plastic drums and i have a large Rubbermaid Agricultural tub over a hundred gallons, you can get them at Tractor Supply and they have a nice drain plug w/ threads
