if u are fishing with a float w/ live bait for blues what lb line u use? i use 20lb test

I use 25 lb line and a 50 lb leader. Thats for any pay lake fishing I do. When I am fishing rivers or state parks I use 40 lb spiderwire for the main line and leader.

Was using 40 lb berkely big game, with 45 lb leader doubled over. Made the swtich to 30 lb berkley biggame found it to be much smoother for the reel still use the 45 lb leader doubled..

for any paylaking i do i use 25lb calcutta, with either a 150 test diameter30 power pro or 50lb leaders.

YOU GUYS AND THESE 50 POUND LEADERS I JUST USE 25 POUND TEAST BERKLY BIG GAME FOR MAIN LINE AND LEADER,AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM,NOT YET ANYWAYS.BUT I MAINLY FISH BEAVER LAKE AND THERE IS NOTHIN IN THERE TO BREAK 10 POUND TEST LOL LOL !!!!!!!!!!! ;D

i don't trust that short amount of line taking that much stress and my leaders don't have to be changed nowhere near as much i've noticed with heavier lines, its just one more thing i won't have to worry about, i started using heavier leaders after one trip along time ago to the old paradise

8 lb test........ i usually go with 25 or 30 nothin over that exept on our ocean reels

my dude caught a 54 on the 1st of december wit 20 lb pline and 20 leader but i've had 40's strip my leader real bad so i stick 20 to 30 main 30 leader doesnt really fail
