In the middle, usually. Probably 6 feet down or so, depending on how deep I am fishing.

i fish 6 inches to afoot off the bottom,depending what lake im fishing at....................

I always fish a foot off the bottom anywhere i go. If its slow then i will vary depths to find active fish. that goes for blues or shovels!
