Take some boneless tyson chicken breast and your garlic powder and spread even all over the chicken and throw out ive caught more fish on this than live bait. Make sure its garlic powder not salt. Salt has something in it i heard from an old timer that most brand put in it that drive cats away.Mostly blues will bite on the garlic for shovel's ive notice no garlic works better. Not saying a flat head won't grab it. I know many people uses or has used this bait but if you have'nt tried it give it a shot and post ur results!!!!

What about using big shrimp you would get at the super market? Shell on of course and using the garlic powder. I thought of putting some shelled shrimp in a gallon bag with some minced garlic. Would that work?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I am sure the channels would eat it if nothing else. Hell you could even take your leftovers and throw them in the skillet and make some garlic shrimp to eat...lol
