deepest spot we've found is about 15' to 17ft. However, fish have been caught consistantly all over the lake from fishing 4 ft below a float, to the bottom, and anywhere in between. there's no real "whole" that you see at most lakes where fish gather. Most productive baits, from what i've seen lately, have been smaller live baits ( bluegill, warmouth, shad), bigger cut baits, as well as night crawlers and leeches.

For a person who doesn't like to use live bait what would be good in its place? I tried a pack bait and I got nibbles off it also tried slim jims but the only thing from that I got was soggy bait. The pack bait is still in the fridge from when I used it 4 weeks ago. Think it would be better by now or throw it away? It's a mix of hamburger, lots of minced garlic, horseradish mustard, and oatmeal. The depth I used it at was 4 to 5 feet too.
