I have never hunted deer before, But after my buddy hit one and my dad hit a herd of them with his 2008 Tucoma, I think I will do my part in thining the population. I have access to about 100 acres of land that is loaded with them, No one has ever hunted it before. I am trying to talk my buddy into letting me put up a stand so I can peel one. I just don't know if I should go for small and tasty or one of the larger bucks. While bait fishing we have seen bucks that would weigh close to 180-200 pounds, but I dont think they would taste too good.

sounds like a great opportunity......go for both....you could shoot a medium size doe(s) for venison and then go for the buck......tell your friend that too many deer is not good - habitat (carrying capacity of the land) can hold only so many HEALTHY deer......of course for any venison it is all about how it is cooked.....good luck!!
