awesome....i am going to try the KY muzzleoader season this year......hopefully will either shoot old mossy horns or will fill the freezer with a few does.

getting things ready as well, got a few things loaded in the truck today, leaveing out friday morning for Highland county, be gone from friday till next saturday or sunday, good luck to all as well. Hopefully this weather will break, i hate to get one and then have to turn right around and go home so it dont go bad. had that happen 3 yrs ago. Had 2 and one went bad, but thats hunting i guess, Good luck again to all.

yea..hot weather and venison don't mix well.....i check the deer right away...skin and quarter it ....then put the meat in ice water in a cooler (actually some water with the ice). will keep for a few days and if you change the water and ice it will be very clean venison when I finish processing it.......just what i do.

had a great weekend - no big bucks - but my daughter went with me and she shot a doe with the crossbow. lucky dad.

well jsut got back tody i didnt get anything, could have shot like 30 does but im after thar monster first, going again to Highland county doreing the rut time, saw a few real nice bucks, my nephew got a real nice one on Thursday it was a 10 pointer, it had a insaid spread of 20 and 1/2 inchs and i would say green score prob. 155-160, he had it scored today but i havent heard from him yet, its got to dry 60 days before they can actul. get a score for the books but i would guess after it dries for 60 day it will go around 145-150, it was/is his 2nd deer and 2nd buck, he got a 7 pointer for his first one 2 yrs aga. not to bad for only his 2nd deer..I thought i was going to have to drag him out as well with the 4 wheeler. LOL Hope everyone did well and got that big one.There has been some nice bucks killed in highland county so far, nothing really to small, but nice deer.
