i would use the monofiliment if i was you they open up better,i use the ones they sell at walmart,or these

the mono ones open better and sink faster and are easier to fix if they get a hole in them or if one of the pull strings break.

I use the cheap mono ones that you can get at walmart, since I go through so many each year from snags and what not.

mono cast nets for me, i have used nylon and they are tougher but take forever to sink, don't invest alot of money in them stick what these guys do also buy the cheap monos don't go out and buy a Calusa or Shellcracker or something too expensive i don't try to spend more than $25 on a 5-6ft radius

Sometimes if you go to Walmart this time of year you can find the mono ones on clearance for like 10 Bucks. Thats a pretty big discount.
