With the weather being nice the lake is opening3-5-09. I know that there are plans to keep the aquatic veg. down this summer and the owners say that they learned a lot from last year. They said that Rome wasn't built in a day but this year there will be even more improvements than last year. They seemed gun ho about it.

Actually what you hook is called coontail. It gets bad in the summer but in the spring time its great fishing.
I know last year the owners didn't open the lake up until mid-may and by the time coontail got going it was to late. This year they say that it will not be a problem.
They are going to do what isabel did. Aqua-pro/Aqua-shade and a granular contact killer.
If you drove by then you must of seen how nice the lake looked. I was there today. The lake is an 8.5 acre lake with several points at one end. The water quality is nice that's the problem. Its to clear so it allows the aquatic vegetation to flourish.
I live by it and I like it. If you don't you don't if you do you do.

I was there this evening and caught two trout and my friend caught 1. I cleaned the trout and put the head on the hook of a surf rod. my friend and I walked off and my pole took off and his wife caught a 20 pound shovel head. Then we cleaned one of the other trout and stuck it on another pole and in 20 mins. later it went under it pulled hard an faught and then it spit it It was a nice one but I caught a case of BLUE BALLS. Got all worked up for nothing.
Had a fun day.
