Me and my father got to the lake around noon. As I've said in another thread, I haven't fished much in a few years, so it was nice to get out fishing. My dad only has medium action bass gear, but he caught a blue cat around 15 to 20lbs on chicken liver fishing for channels. I had one big cat pole out, didn't get anything, but I did catch a nice 5lb channel on a medium action pole on chicken liver. He also got a decent size carp caught on wheaties.
I counted between 15 and 25 of them big catfish floats out on the water and didn't see one thing caught with them. My dad and I were the only ones who caught anything, and we both caught our fish fishing the bottom on medium action poles. Everyone with the giant poles and floats on the back lake were skunked, at least for the 8 hours we were there.
