How can you get cut bait to float up off the bottom, one of the lakes I fish has a lot of grass on the bottom, I would like to get the bait to float above it

Honestly though, I would just use a standard slip float and try to set my depth so that the bait is right above the weeds: I really think I might get a scholarship to an art school with these drawings.

another good method like the one posted is earplugs.......those green or orange little foamy things u squish up and stick in your ears! thread a couple (2) using ur hook and place them above the eye of your hook on your line. This will keep small bait up off the botton, nothing like large heads or or big cut bait, but great for leeches and crawlers and such.

yeah just find the bottom and and move your bobber stop up a foot or two.... that's how i catch most of my fish.
