Yeah went today. They are hitting good. Caught 9 today, biggest was 37lb 12oz. Hitting on largemouth crappie and of course shad. I was catching them at 12 1/2 ft deep. Buddie of mine caught a 60lb 8 oz blue.

I went saturday. The only thing i was getting bites on was live blue gill and warmouth. They would not touch my shad or leaches. I missed 3, had one get off at the bank and caught a 31 # shovel. Peace Elijah

I was at Cedar on Saturday (5/19) as well. It was my first trip to this lake. I didn't get a bite all morning/afternoon using live shad/goldfish/Israeli's. However my fishing partner I was with did catch a 45.2 lb. blue on a shad head. Other than that we got nothing all day. I'm heading back up there tommorow evening and see how the fishing is on a weekday. Hopefully it won't be as crowded as Saturday and we can get a better spot on the lake. From what we saw it seems the most popular/best place on the lake is the side where the bait house is.... Is this correct? I don't want to get skunked again...haha.

As long as you are at the part of the lake where the buoys are. The back part doesn't produce that many big fish.

i was at cedar today 5-23-07 and i slammed some nice fish for my first trip there in a couple years. i caught 8 all together and 6 of them where atleast over 20 lbs and the other 2 where just baby shovels. caught 1 blue out of all of them. i had lost over 10 fish allday and 6 or 7 got away so i would have to say money well spent. i had a blast even tho i was by myself today. and i will be goin back some time soon. not only did i catch fish everyone was catching fish anywhere i looked, but i would have to say i had the hottest spot.

ok i will tell you this everyone was using the biggest peaces of shad dead or alive and the biggest bluegill. it seemed that that were hitting around 10 to 13 feet deep the best. but really i was using everything for bait and was getting runs after runs but like i said i had the hottest spot. no one was trolling today and i found that odd because theres always sumone trolling at cedar. i was getting most the bites on the bottom wit cut bait and i was poppin my bait every 10 to 15 mins.

Biggamefisher is right. Use BIG bait about 11-13 foot deep deppending on where your fishing.
Where did you fish biggamefisher?
