going with shad also but i tend to use a lot of cut bait in the early parts of the year and troll or just let it lay on the bottom!

I USE JUST ABOUT EVERTHING AS CUTBAIT. DO ALOT OF TROLLING. ALSO STRAWBERRY CHICKEN. BUT I GUESS IF I HAVE IT I USE ALOT OF SHAD BUT THAT MIGHT BE CHANGING THIS YEAR WE'LL SEE..IT DEPENDS ON MY TRIPS TO THE RVER......SKIPPIES...........

My biggest fish a 52 pound shovel was caught on a live shiner.

i agree with big smooth i use large shiner heads with the about 2 cm cut off above the tail so they bleed and jerk around ive caught most of my fish at cedar like this and really havent had a run on anything else but a trout head.

YOU KNOW I CAUGHT A 42# BLUE IN EARLY MARCH AT MONROE ON A BIG LIVE CREEK SHINNER IN THE SHALLOW END.

shad all the way, i like the little micro shad heads in early spring and late fall (2 to 3 inch shad)

Early in the spring i never use live bait. I have had my best of luck on cut trout and skip jack. I fis them on the bottom.
